Marrakech : des vacances dépaysantes

To make it easier for you to plan your vacation, we've put together a list of the best things to do in Marrakech. So, what should you visit in Marrakech so you don't miss out on all the city has to offer? Follow the guide!

Jemaa el-Fna Place

As you travel around Marrakech, you'll inevitably come across the emblematic Jemaa el-Fna ("Square of the Dead"). This famous public square attracts over a million visitors every year. The "Gemma Square Cultural Space" has been a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage site since 2008, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985.

If you're not afraid of crowds and want to enjoy the picturesque atmosphere with monkeys and snakes, you know what to do in Marrakech. In the evening, this square is also the place to discover Moroccan cuisine and its specialties.

A stroll through the Majorelle Gardens

A visit to the Jardin Majorelle is a must in this tourist town, which has been marked by the imprint of the famous designer Yves Saint Laurent. Everyone remembers the magnificent blue created by Majorelle, the emblem of the place that once belonged to Pierre Berger and Yves Saint Laurent.

Spread over 8,000 square meters, the gardens are inspired by Moroccan oases and Moorish Islamic gardens. The Majorelle Gardens are a veritable paradise in the heart of this dynamic city.

On the first Saturday of every month, the Fondation Majorelle offers guided tours led by experts: Majorelle Gardens at 10 a.m., Pierre Bergé Museum of Berber Art at 11 a.m. and Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech Museum (mYSLm) at 12 p.m.

Marrakech medina

The medina is the historic center of Marrakech and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you want to visit Marrakech and its historical side, the medina is the place to go! Of course, you'll be enchanted by the smells, perfumes and spirit of the souks if you feel like a stroll.

As you stroll through this part of town, don't forget to visit the many historic monuments such as the Palais de la Bahia

or the Koutoubia mosque. Before returning to the villa with pool you've rented, we suggest you take a refreshing view of Marrakech from the riads.

Have a drink

Marrakech, originally a low-lying city of single-storey riads, has succumbed to the fashion for skyscrapers. In the medina, climbing onto rooftop terraces in the sun or the gentle evening breeze has become a new art of living. The tree-lined lounge echoes the scents of the garden, the rooftop is designed for sunset aperitifs, and the terrace is the place to savour local specialities after being nourished by art and history... In particular, Le Café des Délices, Kabana, El Fenn and even the Maison de la photographie, are picturesque places to take a breather before heading back to LA MAISON DE FRANCOIS.
